Black Lives Matter

A Message To Our Community,
As we embarked on the spring season back in March, we were met with the challenge of the COVID pandemic. Now, we begin the month of June, signifying the transition to summer. COVID remains a global and consistent threat, and our country (and our community) is again facing the brutal and familiar reality of racism in America. Like you, I am saddened, angry and frustrated that we continue to witness the horror of systemic racism. But, it is not enough to feel. What can we do? I believe what’s next isn’t what we can do, it’s what we must do.
Over the last ten years, Lovin’ Spoonfuls has sought to heal our communities through food. As we move through these turbulent and chaotic times, we focus our attention on our Values and Diversity. These are more than ideals, they are the expectations we hold ourselves to – and that we hold up for our employees and our partners. We are, and remain, committed to our employees and partners of color. We stand in solidarity with them now, and will stand with them always, as we honor the lives of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and too many others whom we’ve lost.
Below you’ll find a list of resources meant to help guide us all into action. It includes organizations to support and a variety of important readings. I hope you’ll join me in advocating for the safety of, the voice of, and true equality for our Black and Brown communities.
It’s not enough to wish for a peaceful future, we must demand it. Let’s listen, let’s advocate, and let’s keep each other safe.
In solidarity,
Ashley and the Spoonfuls’ team
