Hear From Our Team

“I’m inspired by the Food Recovery Coordinators I work with. You have Anthony, who trained me and brings diligence and ease to his work. You have Andrew, who is very much a go-getter. Henry who has a bunch of energy and passion for his partners everywhere he goes. Chloe who is such a chill vibe. Everyone brings something to the table that inspires me in the work I do.”

“Spoonfuls is addressing food insecurity in a really valuable way with all the fresh food we recover, but the climate piece for me was the selling point. We’re in this moment where [society] can’t not be addressing climate. We need to be addressing it more. I’m excited to be a part of that. I love that our mission does both.”

“It is my pleasure to serve the same community in which I have always lived. The streets that I drive when I’m recovering and delivering food are ones that I know very well. The food that I deliver reaches my neighbors, and I really mean that. On my very first day, I delivered food to a health center where my best friend’s mom works.”

Staying Connected Across Massachusetts

Spoonfuls is fueled by a hybrid, statewide workforce. We have Food Recovery Coordinators reporting to our truck depots in Eastern, Central, Western, and Southeastern Massachusetts. Most of our administrative staff works hybrid schedules, spending some days working from home and others at our headquarters.

And the physical distance doesn’t keep our team from staying connected. From active Slack channels, to monthly all-staff meetings and training sessions, to biannual full-staff retreats and more, there is no shortage of opportunities to connect with co-workers.
