Lens on Leadership: Lisa Fall

August 27, 2021 Updated: January 23, 2024

From our Board of Directors, to our Culinary Panel, to our Friends Advisory Board, we’re fortunate to count so many strong leaders among our lot! Every month, we introduce you to one of them.

This month, it’s Lisa Fall: Chair of Lovin’ Spoonfuls’ Board of Directors. Lisa is the Chief Executive Officer, BSTX LLC, and President, Box Exchange LLC.

How did you first get introduced to Lovin’ Spoonfuls?

My colleague, Alanna Barton, is a member of Friends of Lovin’ Spoonfuls. She introduced me to the organization and [Spoonfuls’ Founder and Executive Director] Ashley Stanley. I was impressed by the work Lovin’ Spoonfuls was doing and was invited to join the Board.

Why is it important to you to support Lovin’ Spoonfuls?

I dislike inefficiency and waste. Lovin’ Spoonfuls addresses both these issues while also supporting the community. It is the perfect pairing. My professional experience in growing small organizations can be an asset to Lovin’ Spoonfuls during this stage of organizational growth.

How have you involved your company in our work?

Several colleagues attended the Learning with Lovin’ webinar in June.

What is it about this organization or the issue of wasted food that matters to you?

We should all do our part to help the environment and reduce waste. The brilliance of Lovin’ Spoonfuls is that not only is waste and inefficiency addressed in the system, but that healthy, fresh food is diverted to communities and families in need.

What are ways that you work to waste less food, either at home or in the workplace?

Our office administrator is aware of the mission of Lovin’ Spoonfuls and closely monitors our consumption of pantry foods at the office and adjusts orders as needed to prevent the waste of food.
