From our Board of Directors to our Culinary Panel, Friends Advisory Board, and Community Advisory Boards (CABs), we’re fortunate to count so many strong leaders among our lot! Every month, we introduce you to one of them.

This month, it’s Jennifer Mehigan: Member of Lovin’ Spoonfuls’ Greater Boston Community Advisory Board and Director of Media Relations at Massachusetts Port Authority.

u003cmeta charset=u0022utf-8u0022/u003eI have read articles over the years about the organization’s work in various communities.

u003cmeta charset=u0022utf-8u0022/u003eu003cstrongu003eWhat is it about Lovin’ Spoonfuls and/or the issue of wasted food that speaks to you personally or professionally?u003c/strongu003e

My interest in food insecurity is personal. While my family growing up was fortunate enough to never need [food assistance], there were many times when money was tight. Both my parents worked two jobs, and still struggled at times to make ends meet raising four kids.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003ePeople should not go hungry, period. I truly believe this is a solvable problem and want to somehow do my part.

u003cmeta charset=u0022utf-8u0022/u003eMy professional experience is in communications. I am hoping to be able to use my professional skills in a way that helps the Community Advisory Board.
