Pregame Update
Dear friends,
When we set out to plan for the return to in-person events this fall, COVID cases were on the decline and Delta was still just the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet. However, it’s become clear to us in recent weeks that the threat to public health from COVID-19, especially from more contagious variants like Delta, remains. After many lengthy discussions, and out of an abundance of caution, we arrived at the difficult decision to cancel our in-person Pregame Party, slated for October 17.
We know this will be disappointing for many. It is for us, too. We miss connecting with people in person. We miss parties. We were hopeful this was going to be a good one. But we simply don’t want to further expose the members of our team, or any of you, to undue risk at a time when Delta represents such a significant threat.
If you’re wondering what you can do to help, please consider making a gift. Our special events are an important way we raise critical funds for our food rescue operations at a time when too many of our neighbors are struggling to put food on the table.
And if you’re wondering what’s next, stay tuned. In addition to our Chef-a-Thon series coming up later this month, we’re currently planning a fun and fully immersive virtual experience for you! We’ll be sharing the details of it in the coming weeks.
