How did you arrive at Lovin’ Spoonfuls?

I’ve arrived at Lovin’ by way of the Haley House Bakery Cafe where I was a prep cook. They do farm to table, local farming, and community tables.  While there I saw the impact of the fresh food. At a community table event I got to serve the people directly, which was very impactful.

While cooking there I learned to utilize all of the resources around for the menus–it was a business, but we also wanted to help people out. I know several people that benefited from the house as well.

What passions do you bring to the job?

I have a love for food–whether it’s growing food, cooking, or eating it! My last job turned food into something more–a passion for cooking and how it impacts communities. Since I have the history of being a cook, I can appreciate what we do here at Lovin’ even more because I know how important it is to not contribute to food waste in general.  I have a love for using fresh food to make delicious food.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love music and love playing instruments–whatever instrument is in front of me. I also love to listen to music, whether it be with friends or alone, but give me a microphone and I’m not shy! I also like to perform poetry.

I also love my Boston sports teams. I like playing and watching football, baseball, and basketball.

Do your friends and family consider you a good cook? Any signature recipes?

I am considered a great cook amongst my family. My eggplant Parmesan is a contender!

What’s your favorite childhood food memory?

Family reunion dinners have never failed to amaze me! When all the greatest cooks in my family work together, my taste buds are in for a treat.
