Ashley Stanley founded Spoonfuls in 2010. To date, the organization has prevented over 30 million pounds (enough for 24 million meals) of fresh, healthy food from going to waste. Through her work with Spoonfuls and beyond, Ashley has raised unparalleled awareness of the issues of wasted food, food insecurity, and the climate emergency. She served as a fellow at The Nantucket Project, was named an ‘Emerging Leader’ by Boston Business Journal and, in 2013, was selected for the Journal’s ’40 under 40’ spotlight. Ashley has been recognized by The Boston Globe as a ‘Game Changer’ and in Boston Magazine‘s ‘Power of Ideas.’ In 2022, Ashley represented Spoonfuls at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health, which helped to inform Spoonfuls’ advocacy priorities. She is a frequent event and conference speaker and guest lecturer (appearing at Harvard, Babson, Boston University, Simmons, and MIT, among others). She is also a member of TEDWomen and a TEDx community speaker. Ashley has been featured on NPR and written for The Huffington Post.
