Cocktails & Community Brings Together Over 100 Supporters
On June 26, 2019, over 100 supporters joined Lovin’ Spoonfuls at Hotel Commonwealth in Boston’s Kenmore Square. Designed to host and honor our steadfast supporters, guests were treated to delicious beverages by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Peak Organic Brewing Co., Ferrari-Carano Wines, and San Pellegrino, alongside treats such as flatbread pizzas, lobster tacos, and duck confit served in the indoor and outdoor space. Tito’s Handmade Vodka also hosted a beautiful sampling station featuring vodka infused with local teas, and First Republic Bank and their subsidiary Gradifi shared information alongside amazing giveaways.
With staff, Board members, Friends of Lovin’ Spoonfuls members, chef and restaurant partners, and donors in the room, Founder and Executive Director Ashley Stanley welcomed the community and highlighted a few milestones for Lovin’ Spoonfuls this year:
- In 2019 we’ve added 8 new team members and now have 19 employees, which include 10 Food Rescue Coordinators, our team of amazing drivers who facilitate the rescue and distribution of food every week day.
- As of June 21, we’ve rescued over 13 million pounds of food and distributed it back into local communities since our founding in 2010.
- This July, we are launching a new Hampden County route, which includes Springfield, the 2nd most food insecure region after Suffolk County.
We were also pleased to honor a very important partner, Tito’s Handmade Vodka. A company that has been supporting us for years, Tito’s Handmade Vodka has stepped into a bigger partnership in 2019, featuring several campaigns, including a Boston Marathon cocktail matching campaign in partnership with local restaurants, in which for every specialty cocktail sold, they donated a dollar to us, resulting in a $10,000 contribution.
