Partner spotlight: Whole Foods Market

December 22, 2020 Updated: January 18, 2024

Whole Foods Market has been working with Lovin’ Spoonfuls for years to help ensure good food isn’t wasted. The 2020 Ultimate Tailgate sponsor and long-time vendor partner even donated a new refrigerated vehicle this year as part of the Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program. (You can check out the video below from launch day to hear about how that van is helping us transport the food we rescue along one of our Boston routes.)

Spoonfuls’ currently counts 17 different Whole Foods stores across the Commonwealth as vendor partners. Food Rescue Coordinators recover produce, meats, dairy, and baked goods that are distributed same-day to non-profit food programs like local pantries, meal programs, shelters, and more.

“Lovin’ Spoonfuls and Whole Foods Market have really engaged on that next level of food access,” said Eliza Brown, Executive Leader/Operations at Whole Foods Market. “For us, Lovin’ Spoonfuls makes that deeper level connection [to food].”
